What is Soul Energy?

Soul energy is where your emotions come from and they are established by who you are as an individual person.  This energy comes from the inner core of the foundational standards that makes you, you.  And although many people argue that the soul exists, I know firsthand that it does and I will share how.

How is it possible that children that grow up in the same household, with the same parents, can have entirely different perspectives in life?  Why does one go out and accomplish exceptional things and the other be satisfied without as much?  Or even take a 360 turn and perhaps self-sabotage while blaming another for the outcomes of their life?  Let’s take it back to day one of when your little one is born.  From the day they are born you can begin to see small characteristics in your new little human being.  How?  Their brains are not developed enough to do this.

Your soul is where your personality exists.  It is unique and one-of-a-kind.  This is the person that God intended you to be.  And there is a purpose behind it.  Even though, I completely understand that you may not feel it at this moment because the deadly duo has created chaos in your life.  The fact remains that you are a brilliant creation with amazing potential.  Heck, you’re a mom already.  That alone is W.O.W. and proof that God has huge faith in you.

Our souls are crucial and the foundation of which our soul stands will reflect in our soul energy.  When your soul is stable your soul energy will reflect balance and connection.  When we are not strong at our foundation, at the core of who we are, our soul energy will show it through every level of our existence.  You will experience complications at the physical, mental, spiritual, and identity level of who you are.  Energy will be drained on a constant.  This is why the connection between your soul energy and mental health are crucial.  This needs to be your primary step when wanting to overcome anxiety and depression naturally.

The Connection

Let’s chat a bit about the connection between soul energy and mental health.  Now that you have an idea of what soul energy is, what does that have to do with your mental health right?  I got you.  So, when your soul energy is not right because your soul isn’t feeling what you’re doing right now or your behavior isn’t how you ideally would act then your mind starts messing with you.  You see, that’s when self-criticism, doubt, fear, overwhelm, guilt, Mrs. Perfectionist, all of that icky talk begins and just doesn’t stop.  Then when you’re around others this energy radiates everywhere and it further complicates life.  As if you needed more complications?

So the question I dare to ask you is whether or not the issue is in your energy or in your soul?  I am willing to bet that the issue is in your soul.  How can I say this?  I can say this because the demands of motherhood are insane.  Let alone the fact that becoming a mom has created an entire physical transformation with its own set of demands there is so much more.  You know, the house you live in may not be big enough now.  The car you’ve been driving now isn’t good enough.  Holy moly, now you need more income.  Oh wait, who will watch the little ones while you work and now there’s more than one.  And how can you go through that separation anxiety again.  Yeah!

And of course, there’s so much more.  Here’s the tricky thing.  This whole time you’ve been thinking that everything you have been doing and adjusting is to accommodate the kiddos and be a good mom.  The entire time, you’ve forgotten about yourself!  But did you even really know who you were before you became a mom?  I mean genuinely.  The connection between soul energy and mental health can only be established if you know who you are at your core, in your soul.

Falsely Imposed Identities

I would like to share a story with you if I may.  Ever since I was a child, my dad watched political campaigns and bragged of how proud he was to be a Democrat.  There were many reasons why he talked about this political party being great.  They were for the working class person, what they stood for aligned with his values, and their goal was to make the U.S. a better, more balanced opportunity government.  As you can imagine, I identified with this political party for my entire life until I went to college.

In college my professor asks us if we are republican or democrat.  Many of us immediately responded.  Clearly, all of our parents had impressed upon us a certain set of beliefs.  He smiled, nodded and passed out a worksheet.  We completed it and each one turned ours in one at a time.  He asks for us to confirm our political party, tallies up the scores, and reads off our true political party based on our own unique responses.  OMG!  I’m Republican, nope – nuh-uh, not me.  I was traumatized and thought to myself that I am not a money hungry, self-centered republican wanting the rich to stay rich and the poor to stay poor.  But it was true.

Now, many years later, my dad identifies as a Republican.  I don’t identify as any of these.  You must be wondering then what’s the purpose of the story?  The purpose of the story is to show you how easily others impress our own beliefs and they may be inaccurate.  Also, to show how self-awareness to your own beliefs may be shocking at first but later be a breath of fresh air.  And how others may learn a few things about themselves from your experience.  There are many falsely imposed identities that we have.  Now let’s ease you into the concept so you can see the connection between soul energy and mental health.

Genuine Identities Connected to the Soul

Here it is and this is a hard one to accept.  Be patient and kind during this process.  You can come back to this several times if you need.  First off, anxiety and depression have affected your life in a way that rarely anyone understands.  This is why it is so hard to know who you are at the foundational level, at your core.  It is tainted by negativity, self-criticism, and too much judgment.  Can we set that aside for a moment?

Okay, so let’s get down to the nitty gritty of it.  From today going forward, you are a clean slate because God has given you (and gratefully, me) that choice.  Let’s clear out any prior identifications that you may have had because to be transparent, many of them were false either way.  If you can, pull out a clean sheet of paper or go onto your computer and pull up a clean word doc.

It is self-awareness time, get to know you through Mommy Empowerment time, and judgment free zone time.  On the left hand side of the paper make one column and on this side please write down peeps you admire.  This can be family, friends, biblical figures, church peeps, work peeps, or even famous peeps.  Just write down anyone that comes to mind that you admire.

Take a break and a few deep breaths in.  The length of your list is irrelevant, don’t focus on that.  After a moment, next to each person listed I would ask that you list the qualities you admire in them.  There’s a link if you need a jump start to get the ideas flowing of qualities.  After that, take a break again.  You can walk away at this time if you need to.

When you get back, check out your list of qualities.  Focus on each one of the words and as you do see if any of them or several of them light you up from within.  As they do, write those words on a separate paper.  After you are done – guess what!  You have just listed qualities that you, yes, you- possess at your foundation, at the core of you.  This is who you are without all the junk and chaos and darkness that life has brought your way.

You see, soul energy makes connections at every level of your existence.  And this connection comes from the second part of your foundational existence, your spiritual existence.  Your soul energy cannot fully make that connection however until you know who you are.  Although some actions or behaviors from the past (yes 20 minutes ago is your past) didn’t align with who you are, now you know and you can start taking new actions and behaving authentically to your genuine self.

How do you feel mentally?  Probably a little overwhelmed at the new info provided.  Is it a healthy overwhelm?  Have you smiled yet?  Or have you been like, W.O.W.?  Self-awareness to the connection between soul energy and mental health is crucial as I stated previously.  I did this exercise as requested by Maria Nemeth, Ph.D. unintentionally discovering more about myself than my financial energy.

There are many levels to our existence and each one carries its own energy.  It is important to have clarity to who you are and identify correctly.  Anxiety and depression, the deadly duo, are labels not a way to identify.  Our soul energy radiates who we are at our core.  If we are not clear on who that is, the energy being connected to our mind is one of confusion.  Align your soul energy with clarity on your identity and your mental health will drastically improve.  That is why the connection to your soul energy and mental health are important and your foundational work needs to be a priority.
